Summary:
Reporting to the Department Director, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the Elevex mechanical workshop team (15 employees). They will optimize processes and operations by integrating human, material, and technological resources to improve the workshop’s productivity, quality, and profitability.
Main Responsibilities:
Operations and Quality Management:
- Plan and optimize workshop tasks and various projects, taking into account priorities, available resources, and equipment delivery deadlines;
- Implement and maintain the quality control program and ensure that the work performed by the team is of the highest quality;
- Improve workshop productivity and operational efficiency by implementing various production processes and procedures (Lean principles, 5S, etc.)
- Participate in the preparation of estimates and bids for workshop work for internal and external clients;
- Oversee the day-to-day management and coordination of maintenance and miscellaneous work on the building
Human Resource Management:
- Participate in the hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluation of staff for a team of approximately 15 employees, consisting mainly of forklift technicians;
- Ensure compliance with company policies and take action in cases of non-compliance;
- Oversee employee development and ensure that team members possess the necessary skills to optimally perform the services offered.
Health and Safety:
- Contribute to prevention efforts and the strengthening of Elevex’s health and safety culture;
- Participate in accident and incident investigations and analyses;
- Ensure the service workshop remains clean and organized.
Customer Service:
- Communicate as needed with the service shop’s internal and external customers to resolve complaints or issues affecting them;
- Improve overall satisfaction among the service workshop’s external and internal customers.
Required Qualifications:
- College or university degree in a field related to the position: operations management, industrial or mechanical engineering, etc.;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience, preferably in a complex production or operations setting;
- Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written.
- Intermediate knowledge of the MS Office Suite and experience with an ERP system (a plus).
